Technology with Heart
At Frank Residences, every meaningful innovation begins with a simple question: how can this make life better for the person? Therapeutic technology in senior living, when chosen with care, can ease anxiety, spark joy, deepen understanding, and connect people to memories and moments that matter. Across our campus, we draw on the Bay Area’s spirit of innovation to bring thoughtful tools into daily life, always in service of the people who call our community home.
Accompanied by one of our trained caregivers or enrichment staff, our LiquidView digital windows bring serene, lifelike scenes to interior spaces, offering a quiet sense of openness and possibility. This tool provides an enriching story for patients with dementia.
As Gloria Vo, our Assistant Executive Director, puts it: “The LiquidView Panel transports the residents to a place where they are free to be themselves.“
Our Memory Care Experience Station is a stand-alone unit designed to engage all five senses at once. Soft textures, gentle scents, soothing sounds, calming visuals, and tactile activities work together to reduce anxiety and invite creativity. Research on sensory therapy shows multisensory engagement decreases agitation, apathy, and depression among people living with dementia.
95% percent of participants reported increased empathy and insight, leading to more patient, compassionate care and a deeper appreciation of the challenges residents face each day.
Our caregivers and clinical staff use immersive virtual reality and web-based training to better understand the experience of living with dementia.
Featured on CBS, our Dinner Party program uses foods from childhood to gently awaken memory and connection for residents experiencing cognitive change. While the idea itself may feel familiar and intuitive, the science behind it is both novel and innovative, drawing on the powerful relationship between taste, scent, emotion, and long-term memory recall.
Frank Residences is proud to be part of the LeadingAge community, a national network of mission-driven organizations committed to advancing the field of aging services. Our team stays connected to emerging research, peer communities, and forward-thinking practices from across the country. It is how we ensure that the care we provide today reflects the best of what the field has to offer.
Our companion robots bring a spark of warmth and wonder to everyday moments. Designed to engage rather than replace human connection, these interactive companions offer conversation, gentle reminders, and playful interaction for residents who may benefit from a consistent, patient presence. They serve as an extension of our care team’s commitment to dignity and delight.
